Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to our Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!


Kate Robinson   Girls' Lacrosse      Sr
Kate had 3 goals, 1 assist, and 2 ground balls vs Edgewood and 1 goal, 3 ground balls, and 2 draw controls vs Lakota West.  Kate has been a very strong leader in the lacrosse program and has excelled in the classroom with a 3.78 GPA.  Kate will be attending the University of Tampa where she will also cheer.
 
Garrett Kessling     Boys' Lacrosse      Jr
The junior had a hat trick in the 16-4 loss to Lakota West May 3 and had two goals and two assists in the 6-5 win over Seven Hills May 6. Garrett is a leader on and off the field and excels in the classroom with a 4.0 gpa.

Julia Hageman     Girls' Track         Sr.     
Julia competed in three track events last Thursday to help her team win the Best of the West Track Invitational. She placed 1st in the 4x800 and the 4x400 relays and 2nd in the 800 meters. Julia is a 4 year varsity Track and Cross Country athlete. She has a 4.0 GPA and is ranked in the top 1% of her class.
 
Kosi Mkwananzi Boys' Track Sr.
Kosi is a first year track & field athlete, but has already been making a huge impact on the team. His willingness to try any and every event has helped us to learn that he is a natural in the 300m hurdles. On Thursday at the Best of the West invitational, he won the 300m hurdles in a new personal best which currently ranks him as #1 in the GMC.   
 
Will Record          Baseball               Sr.
Will had a solid week at the plate for the Highlanders going 7-13. He scored 4 runs and had 3 runs batted in. He has also done a great job defensively in the outfield.
