Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to our Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

Tanner Iles       Boys' Bowling    Jr.
Tanner has started the season on fire averaging 231 through the first 8 games. He helped the boys varsity team finish 2nd at the Big Blue by rolling a 753 series, which led all bowlers in the tournament.

Brady Sabin       Boys' Bowling      Sr
Brady is off to a hot start on the season averaging 223 through the first 8 games. Brady has made the all tournament team in both tournaments the boys have bowled this season with a 719 series at the Big Blue and a 653 series at the Elks Invitational.

Emma Brunner          Girls' Bowling         Jr
Junior Emma Brunner is off to a great start for her 3rd season on the Girls Varsity A bowling team! Emma is currently 6th in the GMC with an average of 167.4 pins per game. In addition, Emma finished 11th individually at the Big Blue Challenge over the weekend, rolling her new personal best series of 549, helping the Highlanders to finish in 3rd place!

Austin Haarmeyer         Boys' Swimming       Fr
Austin is a Freshman on the swim team and has already made huge strides in the water. He is willing to swim any event and help the team where and when needed. Austin swam the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke in his first meet against Walnut Hills and recorded his best times of the season. We look forward to watching Austin improve this year!

Angela Williams         Girls Swimming           Fr
Angela is a Freshman that is looking to make an impact on the team this year. She is a hard worker and determined to become better every time she is in the water. Angela has swam in two meets, so far, this season and has done extremely well! We can't wait to see how she progresses throughout the season!

Jaxon Holmes            Boys' Basketball             Jr.
Jaxon is a multi-sport athlete who started the pre-season healthy but unfortunately is currently injured. He has still attended all practices and has been a great teammate. He is an aggressive scorer and defender and will be a positive contributor to our program as he gets healthy. Jaxon is also an excellent student with a 4.0 and ranking close to the Top 5% in his class.
