Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

Lydia Thibodeaux      Girls' Swimming         Fr.
Lydia is a Freshman that is already making an impact on the team. Her flexibility to swim different events each week shows how selfless she is when it comes to her teammates. Lydia is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team be successful. We look forward to watching her grow as a student athlete and to see her improve through her swim career.

Mason Altman   Boys' Swimming    Soph
Mason has started his Sophomore season on a positive note. He achieved his personal best times in the 50 and 100 Freestyle events during his first meet of the season against Walnut Hills. Mason continues to work hard each practice, during competitions, and he is a wonderful encourager on deck. We are excited to watch Mason achieve more success and personal bests this season.

Sophia McCarthy               Girls' Bowling            Fr.
Sophia has made a big impact on the Junior Varsity girls bowling team in her first season. Sophia currently holds the second highest average on the team rolling 108 pins per game. She also holds the current highest match series total for the squad with a 253. That 253 series was rolled during the last match before break against MND at Western Bowl.

Brady Singler    Boys' Wrestling    Jr.
Brady won the Adam Cox Memorial Tournament. He tallied 5 pins on the day going 5-0. Brady helped lead the Highlanders to a team championship as well.

Aubrey Laib          Girls' Bowling                  Fr.
Aubrey has quickly turned into a leader of the Junior Varsity girls bowling team. Aubrey currently leads the team with an overall average of 110 pins per game and had the high game for the squad with a 156. During the last match before break against MND, Aubrey rolled a series of 230, averaging 115 pins per game for the match.

Max Rhodes   Boys' Basketball    Soph
Max contributed defense, ball handling and toughness in the Highlanders Tournament bracket win in the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. Max is a multi-sport athlete, an outstanding Varsity Football linebacker, and an excellent student. He has earned a 3.95 GPA in Honors and AP classes.

Jada Riep  Girls' Basketball  Senior
Jada came back from injury to score 22 points and grab 12 rebounds in our two games at the Jingle Bell Jam. Jada has exemplified great senior leadership throughout the season to help out young roster battle through the tough GMC.
