Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
Colin Klaserner       Boys' Swimming          Jr.
This weekend Colin competed in the Southwest Ohio Coaches Classic Meet which is the largest high school swim meet in the country. He was a member of the 17th place 400 Medley Relay, the 16th place 200 Free Relay, the 15th place 200 Medley Relay, and the 16th place 400 Free Relay. Colin achieved personal best times in the 100 Free, 50 Free, 100 Individual Medley, and 50 Backstroke. Way to go Colin!!
 
Josie McDonald     Girls' Swimming     Sr.
Josie is a senior and is looking to have her best year on the swim team. This weekend while she competed at the Southwest Ohio Coaches Classic, she achieved several personal best times. She had her fastest times in the 50 Freestyle, 50 Breaststroke, 100 Freestyle, and the 50 Backstroke. She was, also, a member of the girls 400 Freestyle Relay. We look forward to Josie finishing even stronger at the end of the season. 
 
Henry Maginn        Boys' Basketball                  Jr.
Henry, a Junior point guard, scored 32 points, had 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in our past 2 games. He shot 10-20 overall, 4-9 from the 3 pt line and 8-8 from the FT line. He is a multi-sport athlete who also has a 4.0 GPA in an AP and Honors course schedule.
 
Cora Mundstock         Girls' Bowling             Sr
4-year Varsity bowler Cora Mundstock had an outstanding day at the Centerville Sweet 16 Tournament over the weekend. Cora led the Lady Highlanders to the quarterfinals of the tournament, rolling a series of 367 which was 2nd high for the tournament individually, qualifying her for the All-Tournament Team! Cora also led the Varsity A girls team in the match with Princeton last week, averaging 189.5 pins per game!
 
Emma Brunner     Girls' Bowling    Jr.
Junior Emma Brunner had a great day at the Royal Z Invitational Tournament in Wilmington over the weekend! Emma led the girls Varsity A bowling team with a series of 506, averaging 168.7 pins per game, which was 5th overall individually for the entire tournament, qualifying her for the All-Tournament Team! Emma is currently ranked 10th in the GMC with an overall average of 156.8 pins per game.
