Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!


Carly Littelmann           Girls' Bowling            Sr.
Senior Carly Littelmann is an incredible student athlete who makes a big impact everywhere she goes! In addition to being a starter on the Varsity A girls bowling team in her second year, Carly will star in the school musical and is on the student leadership committee with Cancer Free Kids, she will attend their event "Night for the Fight" to help raise funds for pediatric cancer research. This past weekend, Carly helped lead the Lady Highlanders to a 4th place finish at the Cardinal Classic, averaging 167 pins per game to finish 15th individually at the tournament.
 
Megan Reichling     Girls' Bowling    Soph
Sophomore Megan Reichling has shown incredible growth during her second year as a member of the girls bowling team. Last year Megan was part of the Junior Varsity team, averaging just 95 pins per game; this year, she's one of the top bowlers on Varsity B. This past week, Megan rolled the high series for the Varsity B team during both matches with Middletown Christian and Middletown; averaging 136 pins per game.   
 
Corbin Hazlett        Boys' Swimming          Fr.
Corbin is a Freshman on the swim team and started the year on a strong note. He has overcome some adversity this season, but has come back with a purpose. Corbin competed this past week and placed 2nd in the 500 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. He was a participant on the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays and helped lift the Highlanders over the Campbell County Camels at Thursday's meet.
 
Camaya Smith     Girls' Swimming     Sr.
Maya is a Senior on the swim team and gets better every time she competes. This week she achieved her personal best time in the 100 Freestyle and was a participant on her first 400 Freestyle Relay. Maya has been an incredible addition to the team and we look forward to seeing wonderful results in her final swim meets.  
 
Theorie Troxell      Boys' Wrestling        Soph
Theorie had a big win during Friday nights dual vs. Elder. He was able to get a pin in the first period and to get Oak Hills on the board.
 
Brandon Stidham      Boys' Basketball     Sr.
Brandon has lately contributed valuable minutes off the bench this season. He has worked hard to help the team in practice and in games. Also he has been emerging as a leader, a role he embraced during the Varsity Football season and will take on during baseball season. He is a 3 sport athlete (Football, Basketball, and Baseball) who also works hard in the classroom, earning a 3.5 GPA.
