OHHS Art and Design Students Win District's Choice Award and 3rd Place at the District 1 Congressional Art Awards
Posted on: May 1, 2026 11:00 am
This past Saturday was the reception for the District 1 Congressional Art Awards! OHHS Art and Design students, Sarah Sieve and Maria Elena Arivillaga Munoz, submitted work for this year's competition which was themed for the 250th birthday of America. Sarah was awarded the District's Choice Award, and Maria earned 3rd place in this year's competition out of 26 entries. Rep. Greg Landsman praised all of the young artists for their courage in using their creative voice to communicate their diverse perspectives to the community and invited them all to talk about the meaning behind their works. Their artwork will remain on display at the The Annex Gallery, located at the Pendleton Art Center, through May 15th. Following that date, select works will be exhibited at the Hamilton County Courthouse for 1 year.
