Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

 
Riley Grove        Girls' Volleyball       Jr.
During this week's matches, Riley tallied 24 kills, 10 serving aces, and 35 digs!! She has been a 2-year varsity starter and is currently 5th in GMC for total kills. Riley holds a 4.0 GPA and also participates in Student Council and Spanish Honor Society.  
 
Devin Holt          Football          Sr
Devin Holt, a senior team captain, had 10 carries for 71 yards and a rushing TD with a long of 31 yards. Devin also had one reception for 71 yards for TD. In addition, he was 5 of 9 passing for 40 yards.
 
Molli Malone Girls' Tennis Jr
Molli and her partner, Morgan Lint, finished 3rd at the GMC tournament - earning them third team GMC. Molli was a big part of the team this year, playing mostly first doubles. Molli carries a 4.0 GPA while taking a full AP schedule. Molli is also a member of NHS and plans to go to college for pre-med.  
 
Annabelle McDonald       Girls' Cross Country          Soph
Anabelle was an exceptional leader this week helping several of her teammates run personal best times. She is selfless and encouraging as a teammate. She has been the model of consistency this season as a consistent top 5 runner. Anabelle also excels in the classroom.   
 
Megan Huth                  Girls' Cross Country         Sr
Megan placed 12th overall at the St. Xavier Invitational this past weekend helping her team to a First place finish. She ran a personal best time of 20:33 and placed as the team's number 5 runner. Megan is also an excellent student and has a 4.0 GPA.  
 
Ethan Marshall         Boys' Cross Country       Jr.
Most of the guys who raced at Sycamore ran a personal best on Saturday, but few raced like Ethan did.  In his first varsity race, Ethan stayed calm and didn't let the hype get to him.  Never before had he raced with such confidence as he did in this recent race.  Ethan placed himself with guys who were faster than him and just hung on.  The result was running under 19 minutes for the first time and being the second runner on our team at Sycamore.    
 
Abby Cole           Girls' Soccer             Jr
Abby, a Junior Center Midfielder for the Highlanders, has been a vital part to the team's success this year. Her vision of the field, technical ability, and strong distribution skills have contributed to the team's success. Abby also takes 2 AP courses, 1 Honors course, and a College level course.
