Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to our Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

 
Grace Scheckel       Girls' Golf      Jr
Grace has stepped up to be a very valuable part of our varsity team. She chose to work hard in the off-season and has become our most consistent golfer as a result. She's calm and cool on the course and maintains a 4.0 with her full honors and AP schedule.
 
Presley Pennekamp Girls' Soccer Fr
The Freshman forward, recorded 6 goals and 2 assists this past week, to help the Highlanders earn 3 more wins. Presley is currently in 1st place in the GMC for goals (13), assists (9), and points (35). She also is an excellent student, taking 3 honors courses.  
 
Riley Grove            Girls' Volleyball            Sr
During the four-game week, Riley compiled 30 kills, 32 digs, 2 blocks, and 6 aces. Riley has been a very mainstay player for us this season. She carries a 4.0 GPA in school while participating in the Spanish Honors Society. She hopes to continue in college studying Occupational Therapy while playing volleyball.
 
Sarah Lykins Girls' Tennis Sr
Senior, Sarah Lykins, picked up a huge win for the team with Sophia Marsala as the two of them defeated Lakota West at second doubles this past Monday. Sarah is 8-8 on the season while playing mostly third singles or second doubles. Sarah carries a 4.0 GPA while being a member of NHS, varsity singers, and the Spanish Honors Society.   
 
Julia Hageman               Girls' Cross Country               Jr
Julia Hageman ran a time of 20:20 at this past weekend's Fairmont Firebird Invitational placing 20th out of 123 varsity runners. Julia's season-best time is 19:54. Julia is an amazing teammate, always looking out for the best of others on the team. She was voted captain by her teammates and has been one of the steadiest performers on her team each week. Julia is currently taking 4 AP classes and 1 CCP class and holds a 4.0 GPA.
