J.F. Dulles Elementary dedicates new community playground
Posted on: September 15, 2025 12:00 pm
J.F. Dulles Elementary held a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony this morning to unveil its new all-inclusive 4th/5th-grade playground fully funded through community donations and support from the Oak Hills Alumni and Education Foundation.
Local dignitaries, sponsors, volunteers and the entire school gathered to celebrate the new playground, which was built by community volunteers over several evenings and a weekend in August.
The playground will be dedicated as The Eugene & Mary Kramer J.F. Dulles Elementary Community Playground, honoring Eugene Kramer, the school’s first principal (1961–1974), and his wife, Mary. Members of the Kramer family were on hand for the ceremony.
“This playground will be a space where every child, regardless of ability, can learn, grow, and play together,” said Elizabeth Riesenberger, Principal of J.F. Dulles Elementary. “We are so grateful to our amazing PTA, the community, and the Oak Hills Alumni and Education Foundation who stepped up to fund this initiative out of their own generosity.”
The playground was funded entirely by contributions from community members, the J.F. Dulles PTA, local businesses, donations and the Oak Hills Alumni and Education Foundation—with no taxpayer dollars used.
