Change in Eligibility Requirements:
Beginning January 2026, a new state law requires all Ohio school districts to follow a uniform age-eligibility requirement for kindergarten enrollment. Under this law, children must be five (5) years old by the first day of school in their school district to enroll in kindergarten.

For Oak Hills Local Schools, this means students must turn five years old on or before August 20, 2026, which is the first day of school for the 2026–2027 school year.

Kindergarten Registration Opens: February 23, 2026
To be eligible, children must be five (5) years old on or before August 20, 2026.

We are moving forward with a “Priority Registration” window for incoming kindergarten families. Families who complete registration between February 23 – March 20 will receive free spirit wear for their incoming kindergartner, distributed at Open House during the week of March 23-27.

Springmyer Elementary, Tuesday, March 24 from 4-5:30 p.m.
