Men’s Ensemble

When walking into Mrs. Thompson’s first bell, the first thing you’ll see is a bunch of guys sitting around with a binder open, staring. What you may not realize is they are all reading music. Mrs. Thompson’s first bell consists of young men who are working together to show off Oak Hills male singing abilities. Sitting in Mrs. Thompson’s first bell you may feel very surrounded because of the setting of voices coming together in (almost) perfect harmony to make one strong voice. You may also notice three goofballs sitting in the back who are all former or current students of Mrs. Thompson, who often help her guide the other singers through the low bass notes. Two of her aides, Dylan Hoy and Manny Zagorianos,who were in the 2014-2015 Men’s Ensemble overall enjoyed the class because it brought them close gave them the opportunity to make new friends.. A lot of the gentlemen from the 2105-2016 Men’s Ensemble seem to really enjoy it so far too, such as Aaron Tilford who said, “The class is very supportive. Most of us already knew each other from middle school and it’s a chance for us to sing together where no one really downs on each other. Everyone is very supportive.¨ Keep an eye out for their concerts throughout the 2015-2016 school year!
